Feds Push for 30-Day Sentence for Tekashi 6ix9ine in Violation Case; Plea Deal Finalized
Tekashi 6ix9ine might be looking at another month behind bars, as the federal authorities are suggesting he serve 30 days for breaching his supervised release conditions.
According to new documents from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, Tekashi is scheduled for a court appearance next week, where he’s expected to acknowledge the violations laid out by the government.
The U.S. Attorney is proposing that Tekashi immediately return to jail for 30 days. Following his release, they want him to complete an additional year of supervised release. For the first 90 days post-incarceration, they recommend 30 days of home incarceration, another 30 of home detention, and a final 30 under a curfew.
Afterward, Tekashi could travel domestically for work but only with his probation officer’s approval. They’re also suggesting he undergo random drug tests.
It’s important to note this is just the government’s recommendation, and the judge has yet to approve it.
As reported earlier, Tekashi was taken into custody last month for violating his supervised release conditions. His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, stated the arrest was due to Tekashi performing in Las Vegas without prior approval, testing positive for meth, and missing a drug test on another occasion. Lazzaro claims the meth test might have been a false positive since Tekashi takes Adderall.
We’ve reached out to Tekashi for his response to the government’s proposed sentence but haven’t heard back yet.
